Satisfy Up

If you know me or have read any of my books or other blogs, you know that the definition of words is very important. You have to say what you mean and mean what you say. If you are a single person or have ever been single (everyone has), you have been asked this question: “When are you going to settle down?” This question seems harmless and is probably meant to be just a question about finding a mate and getting married. What people may not realize is that this question is implying 2 things.

1) That in order to be whole, happy and full, you need a mate;

2) In the quest for that mate, you have to settle. Not just settle, but settle down.

Settling down implies that you settle for less than you deserve. Who wants that?

I say, if you want a mate, find the person that is for you. The one that adds to your life and your happiness. The one that helps you to move forward in life. The one who is there for you and you are there for them. The one that makes you feel satisfied. Satisfied to the point you are happy and content being with them. So satisfied that nothing or no one else will do. While you are in this satisfied state, make sure they live up to your standards. I will state again, your standards, not anyone else.

So yes, I am suggesting that if you want to be in a relationship, do it. But remember, why settle down, when you can satisfy up?
